Felix Mendessohn: String Quartets Op. 12 & 13

The Verona Quartet releases Felix Mendelssohn: String Quartets, Op. 12 & 13 on Oberlin Music on August 14, 2026. Named in honor of the city of Verona, where Shakespeare set the iconic Romeo and Juliet, the Verona Quartet takes inspiration from a place synonymous with storytelling. The ensemble records Mendelssohn’s two earliest quartets, composed in the years surrounding the composer’s own tribute to Shakespeare: his Overture to A Midsummer Night’s Dream.
